Tomorrow When the War Began

Stuart Beattie has made his directorial debut on one of Australia's most beloved novels, TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN. The Aussie screenwriter's been a huge success overseas writing screenplays for Collateral and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, and is renowned for his ability to adapt books for the big screen.

To add to the pressure of stepping behind the camera for the first time, he's done it with a book series that's sold over 2.5  million copies. That's a lot of fans wanting you to get it right. But Beattie rose to the occasion, using his Hollywood success to attract a healthy budget, making TOMORROW one of the biggest movies to be made in Australia. He's also made the film distinctly Australian with a true blue Aussie cast.

He has to be one of he nicest guys in the business, and we caught up with Beattie, and his young cast, to find out more about the film.

Oh, and does he want to come back to bring the remaining 6 books to life? You betcha!
