Judy Moody & The Not Bummer Summer

JUDY MOODY & THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER is based on the best selling children's book series by Megan McDonald. The books have sold over 14 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 23 different languages, so it was only a matter of time before Hollywood cashed in on its success.

Of course finding the right Judy Moody was imperative to the success of the movie, and after an extensive audition search across the US and the UK auditioning thousands of young hopefuls, it was here in Australia that Universal Pictures found their Judy Moody.

At just 11 years old, Aussie actress Jordana Beatty landed her first leading role. And it should be noted this this is only her second feature film after making a very brief (and screaming) appearance in SUPERMAN RETURNS. But the young actress took Hollywood and the role in her stride, an impressive feat considering she is in every single scene of the film.

Jordana has also taken the publicity tour in her stride and joined us in our Not (so) Bummer Studio set, to (very professionally) tell us how and why she thought she landed the part, and how she's loving every minute of her new founded success, especially seeing herself up on all the billboards in Hollywood.

Jordana also gives us a few tips on how to have a Not Bummer Summer, and kids... there's not a computer game in sight.

Johnny English Reborn

Showitme Movie News joins Rowan Atkinson (aka Mr. Bean) on the red carpet at the World Premiere of JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN. The British comic talent is back as the world's most bumbling secret agent, bigger although maybe not that much better, than before.

In true Bond-esque style, JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN has the cars, stunts, gadgets and girls of a (real) Bond film and so is this a case of "if you can't join 'em, beat 'em?" Possibly, as he's pulled in the big guns with (real) Bond girl Rosamund Pike as Johnny's love interest, and Gillian 'Scully' Anderson as head of MI7. However let's not forget that Rowan Atkinson did make his feature film debut opposite Sean Connery in NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN. So perhaps he's "been there, done that!"

The World Premiere of this big British production was held at Hoyts EQ at Fox Studios in Sydney where Movie News caught up with the cast and director Oliver Parker who put car enthusiast Rowan Atkinson in a go-cart-powered wheelchair for the film's climatic car chase, rather than the special edition Rolls Royce Phantom (complete with  9 litre V16 engine) released just and only for the film. In fact it was this very car that Rowan & co. cruised into the World Premiere in Sydney in, after jetting it across from Britain.

We also get an interesting insight into the comedic approach of Rowan Atkinson, with Rowan giving a surprisingly honest account of his often 'glass half full' outlook on life and his work. Fascinating stuff.
