Soul Surfer

As a nation of surf rats, we, perhaps more than other countries can understand the deep connection to water and waves that is the theme of SOUL SURFER.

More than just the compelling and incredibly inspirational story of Bethany Hamilton, who lost her left arm in a shark attack at age 14, the film is about someone who had no other choice than to go back into the water to pursue her dream.

Promoting the film in Cannes recently, Bethany explains her concerns about the dangers of Hollywood exploiting her story, how critics and cynics never concern her, and just how stoked she was to be able to perform the surfing stunts in the film herself, despite the vast physical difference with actress Anna-Sophia Robb.

Snowtown

One of Australia's most notorious serial killers was given a global audience last week when SNOWTOWN screened at the Cannes Film Festival. As it opened in cinemas across Australia, this behind the scenes look at the manipulation and seduction by John Bunting that led to a grisly murder spree, was also picked up for distribution in the U.S. and the UK.

Listen to director Justin Kurzel describe how there was a lot more intrigue to the "four freaks from Boganville" than the one-dimensional media coverage and the "bodies in the barrel".

Hear how first-time actor Daniel Henshall made Bunting more compelling than your average psycho, and delivers a remarkable and chilling performance.

Find out how the Hollywood dream came true for Lucas Pittaway, who literally was approached in a Reject Shop in a shopping mall in South Australia.
