The Lincoln Lawyer
After taking three years off to start a family, Matthew McConaughey is back on screen in THE LINCOLN LAWYER. Not only did he put his shirt back on, but he covered it with a suit... attorney style!
The film is an adaptation of the novel by Michael Connelly, who, as a crime reporter for The LA Times, ran across a few slick lawyers, including the titled one, who conducted business in the backseat of his car driving from courthouse to lockup and back. It's a terrific thriller with a bit of blackmail and lots of legal maneuvering, and a good plot twist or three.
Now, colour me boring, but I'd take Bongo Boy in a suit and a courtroom any day over his more common sappy RomComs and stoner flicks, and Ryan Phillippe plays duplicity with the innocence of a choir boy.
