Recent stories about Steven Soderbergh retiring from the film business certainly took Hollywood by surprise, and shocked his legion of fans worldwide.

This is a man responsible, after all, for the OCEAN'S franchise, OUT OF SIGHT, ERIN BROCKOVICH and TRAFFIC to name just a few.

But after veering off into rather obscure territory with the almost intentionally amateurish BUBBLE, a film about a prostitute, and a three and a half hour movie about Che Guevara, maybe he's simply burned out or bored?

So he's taking a break to recharge his batteries, then will see if he's still passionate about making films. But before he leaves he's got a couple of parting shots with HAYWIRE and CONTAGION, an all-too relevant thriller about a killer virus that is spreading across the globe.

Taylor Lautner's first Twilight break-out film ABDUCTION might be about mistaken identity, but there was certainly no case of who was turning up at Sydney's Fox Studios recently for the Australian Premiere of the film. Thousands of screaming fans (and not all of them teenage girls!?) lined the red carpet hoping for a glimpse of the Hollywood hottie.

And they were not disappointed. Lautner or 'Team Taylor', prides him / themselves on punctuality and almost in a rare event for most film Premieres, arrived early and then preceded to autograph and get snaps with almost every single fan. Almost an hour later us media folk finally got our 30 seconds with Taylor - actually he was very generous to us as well with a full 3 minutes - also unheard of. At 19 years of age, he definitely knows how to work a crowd and who to thank for his success...  he was recently named Hollywood's Highest-Paid Teen Actor earning $7.5 million for his next film 'Northern Lights' opposite Tom Cruise.

Showtime Movie News not only chatted to Lautner on the red carpet but we also abducted him for a sit down interview, once again finely orchestrated by Team Taylor and running ahead of schedule!

ABDUCTION is basically a Gen-Y Jason Bourne, and given Lautner's dream role is to star in the Bourne films, this is not a bad compromise or a first leading role. A producer from the Bourne franchise was headhunted for the film and so it's action packed and draws on Lautner's his own fitness, physicality and martial arts skills allowing him to perform most of his own stunts.  

ABDUCTION also marks Lautner's first role as producer under the banner of his own production company 'Tailor Made'. Seems there's alot more to Lautner than a mean six-pack and a few impressive karate kicks.
