James Cameron totally changed the face of cinema-going with AVATAR and his ground breaking technology. The film is the highest grossing film of all time & the top selling blu-ray worldwide. But this wasn't enough for the visionary director, who is now inviting fans back into the world of Pandora for a second release Extended Collector's Edition Blu-ray/dvd.

Why a second release you may ask? Well Cameron wanted to release his film to the fans asap. He also wanted to release it with the highest technical visual & audio quality and so the first blu-ray/dvd contained only the film, as any other special features would have taken up disc space needed to deliver this quality.

Also (and of course), Cameron and producer Jon Landau wanted this Collector's Edition to be the ultimate interactive blu-ray experience. And that it is. Weta Digital worked for 3 months to deliver 3 discs of deleted scenes, unseen footage, documentaries and 3 versions of the film - one with an entirely new opening sequence.

Movie News was invited to visit Weta Digtial in Wellington, who opened their doors to give us an exclusive insight into how this incredible film came to life, and what fans can expect from the Extended Blu-Ray Collector's Edition of AVATAR .

The animated LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS: OWL OF GA'HOOLE, the Superhero fable GRIFF THE INVISIBLE early next year, and out next week the Western RED HILL.

First time writer/director Patrick Hughes got fed up waiting to make his first film, so he mortgaged his house, raised private funding, begged his actors and shot his outlaw revenge thriller in high country Australia.

Ryan describes the film as an Australian NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN meets MAD MAX, so if that doesn't spark your interest, I'm sure there's a romantic comedy opening soon for you.
